Congress is working to finalize Fiscal Year 2026 spending by January 30, 2026. Please help ensure access to critical and affordable HIV care by urging Congress to pass:
- Bipartisan spending bills that protect and fund HIV programs, and
- Provisions to extend enhanced premium tax credits and reverse Medicaid cuts to ensure access to affordable health coverage and care.
Maintaining access to affordable and predictable health care is paramount for people living with and vulnerable to HIV.

Suggested Call Script:
Please feel free to change the script below as needed to best reflect your lived experience and/or jurisdiction.
- Hi, my name is [YOUR NAME] and I’m a constituent [living/working/caring for people] in your district/state.
- People living with or vulnerable to HIV need affordable and predictable access to medical care and supports to stay healthy and survive – disrupting or cutting access to HIV prevention, care, and treatment results in:
- New HIV cases and worse health outcomes, and
- Increased costs as people get sick and seek care at later stages and in more expensive settings, such as emergency rooms.
- Federal HIV programs are an important part of the U.S. health care system – federal funding for HIV programs supports prevention services, primary care, mental health and substance use services, housing, and medications.
- Cutting federal funding for HIV programs and reducing access to affordable health insurance and Medicaid coverage would cost jobs and destabilize HIV care that people count on.
- [Representative or Senator NAME] should vote for:
- A bipartisan final Fiscal Year 2026 spending package that fully funds HIV programs to ensure that people living with or vulnerable to HIV have access to critical treatment, prevention, housing, and research needed to live longer, healthier lives.
- Provisions to extend enhanced premium tax credits and reverse Medicaid cuts to ensure access to affordable health coverage and care.
